Fall 2026 Newsletter

Greeting W4H Supporters,

Drilling in 2013.

It is hard to believe that another four months have passed since the Summer Letter and another season is upon us. I am sorry to say the sad situation in Haiti has not improved. Gangs are still controlling the important 50% of the country and very few people of the 1.5 million who were run out of their homes have been able to return. In Romans 8, Paul encourages us with God’s word that, “Who can be against us if He is for us? And, “All things will work together for the good for those who love Him with the confidence that we know He is concerned about us, if we work together for the good of His Plan and His Purpose”. Ok, please read that again.

Was W4H called “according to His purpose” to escape to Cap Haitian and start a humanitarian project of feeding the homeless, the poor and the street people? Now 350,000 illegals are possibly going to be returned to Haiti. Even other Caribbean Islands are returning Haitians from their countries. We are in Cap, the furthest northern city in Haiti of over 300,000 populations. Cap is the only city which has an open airport to handle large passenger jets, so all of these extra people will be delivered there. Just having one plane of one hundred passengers, arriving at night in a strange city is a horrible situation. And Haitian Customs has to process them and their office closes at four that afternoon.

Add this to the good possibility that many of these illegals are criminals. Suddenly, this city which has been absent of any of gangs will be even worse than much of Haiti right now. I am sure these types of rough individuals will intimidate the surrounding area’s population and run them out of their homes, just move in and take whatever they want. Both sets of criminals, those in the middle of the country and now the influx of these new criminals landing in the North will converge and the whole Northern Peninsula will be under gang control. It has been said, ‘gun runners’ have delivered 500,000 guns into Haiti, whatever for I have no idea. Who is financing these guns? Local rich Haitian’s who are profiting from the chaos or others from outside the country?

Thank you to those of you who have responded so generously to provide food for those mentioned earlier. With this response the Board has seen it possible and decided that we can double the number of needy we are feeding monthly. For less than $3 Roberto can purchase the needed supplies to feed a person for a month. Roberto goes twice a month at this time and returns to each group once each month. Right now we have 4 groups whom he has found to deliver this food and other supplies. If we can continue to keep expanding we will do so until we feel we have reached our limit. We are spending every dime we receive each month. The only expense W4H has for operating expenses is the quarterly news letter at $4/year per person on the mailing list of 500+. The Foundation does all of the bookwork and accounting and dealing with the auditors and IRS. We usually have enough deposited that the interest incurred covers their fees.

Eph. 6 speaks to all of us in our daily lives but as we think of Haiti it takes on a greater impact. Paul says, “Stand firm against spiritual evil, rely on God’s strength and keep praying”. He has also said, “I will never leave you or forsake (give up on you) you”. Haiti and its people certainly need us to remember them in our prayers while holding to God’s word that He will not forget us or leave us to fight against the evil of this world. Thank you all and we will pray that by the Winter Letter the situation in Haiti has started to improve, even if ever so slightly.
